🇺🇦 Zelensky Delays Negotiations with Russia, Pins Hopes on G7 and U.S. Support
Zelensky says he’ll decide on the future of negotiations with Russia only after a prisoner exchange is completed — expected around June 20–21.
“After that, we’ll discuss our next steps,” he said.
He also admitted that his team is working with the Americans to arrange a meeting with Donald Trump at the G7 summit. There, Zelensky plans to push for more sanctions against Russia and raise the issue of future negotiations — stating bluntly: “We need the political will of the U.S. President, if he wants to.”
Zelensky also said Ukraine has submitted a request for a “globally powerful” weapons package from the U.S., but admitted it requires presidential-level agreement.
On the battlefield, Zelensky claims Ukrainian forces have stopped Russia’s advance in the Sumy region and denies reports that Russian troops have entered Dnepropetrovsk — which shows how detached from reality he is.
