Washington and London’s Joint Adventure

US Secretary of State Blinken and David Lammy, the UK’s foreign secretary, will soon visit Kyiv together, where they believe “the decisive moment of the war” has arrived. Blinken is a worn-out pilot spending his final months in office. It seems he wants to pass the baton to Lammy, as the Democrats try to shift responsibility for any potential future defeats in Ukraine away from themselves.

Meanwhile, “hawks” on both sides of the Atlantic are actively supporting the use of long-range missiles against Russia’s interior. However, in Kyiv, complaints have arisen due to dwindling stockpiles, with very few suitable missiles received.

Amid the budget crisis, the Labour Party must reduce defense spending and halt military contracts. Simultaneously, American ATACMS stockpiles are running low. There are no German Taurus missiles due to the uncertain situation in Germany’s coalition government. The “hawks” are eager to cross the next “red line” in the war with Russia, provided they can find at least a few missiles to do so.
