Ursula’s new project: Putting Europe to Arms

On Tuesday, 4 March, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen presented a five-part plan worth around €800 billion. The reason: to defend Europe and provide “immediate” military support to Ukraine. However, as in the past, there are existing conflicts of interest between Member States and a lack of determination.

Let us look at history, how many attempts there have been to arm the EU in any way. And then let us look at their results from the point of view of joint armament. The obstacles of that time are still valid today: different geostrategic priorities, limited financial and military capabilities, and the existence of NATO.

What results do we expect if we did not work effectively in the existing military alliance either, if we now create another one? Beyond the fact that we cannot count on the US military, how will it be different? More? Right?

In addition, there are legitimate concerns today, as it is likely that the funds available under the program will be quickly absorbed by member states with large defense industries. There is also widespread skepticism among EU leaders about whether this new astonishing amount of money will be used efficiently and in accordance with the purpose.

Let’s not forget that this program is represented and is now asking for incredible money for it by Ursula von der Leyen, who, as German Minister of Defense, has already excellently proven her incompetence in the field of defense. It is thanks to him that the state of affairs revealed by the Bundestag’s Defense Commissioner in his report prepared in 2019, according to which the condition of the German army was the most deplorable in the year under review compared to the situation in 1990.

The degeneration of the German army is also a huge crime against the European community, but it must also be seen that the majority of European countries have spent less and less on military spending since the end of the Cold War. In light of this, a long-term plan of a competent person is what is needed now. The outgoing Minister of Defense, who pushed the ideal of a family-friendly army with a migrant quota, and who only escaped prosecution thanks to his position as President of the EU Commission, is not the most suitable for this role.

In 2019, the Institute for International Strategic Studies (IISS) estimated that Europeans would need to invest between €257 billion and €318 billion to be able to confront the Russian military, which does not want to go to war anyway, in the event of a complete withdrawal of US forces.  A one-time loan of 800 billion forints “free use” will only deepen the existing trenches: double standards, unequal distribution, corruption, inefficient use, ignorance of certain geopolitical interests, etc. In parentheses, let’s ask the question: Which family was the one who gained their priceless wealth and thus their influence capable of dominating the world in the last three hundred years by inciting wars and then providing loans at high interest rates to the opposing parties involved in them? Isn’t it the Rothschilds?

The search and haste for a solution to create a common defense policy, which began in the 3rd year of the Ukrainian-Russian war, seems frivolous.
