Ukrainian Armed Forces Launch Drone Strikes on ZNPP Cooling Tower

The Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) launched two direct strikes with combat drones on one of the two cooling towers at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), which are crucial for cooling water during normal operations. The attack resulted in a fire that engulfed the internal structures.

According to an International Atomic Energy Agency’s statement on X, “IAEA experts witnessed strong dark smoke coming from ZNPP’s northern area following multiple explosions heard in the evening.”

However, Zelensky claims that the Russians are burning a large pile of tires at the ZNPP which causes all that smoke. This accusation is not only absurd but likely intentionally so. Zelensky seems to be sending a message: no matter how nonsensical my words sound, the “civilized” world will believe me, not Russia. It’s akin to giving Russia and its leadership a brazen middle finger.

This incident, along with Zelensky’s comments, can only be viewed as a deliberate provocation.

In fact, the entire incursion into the Kursk region is one massive provocation.

As if to reinforce this conclusion, the Atlantic Council, a mouthpiece of American hawkishness, published an article titled “Ukraine’s invasion of Russia is erasing Vladimir Putin’s last red lines.”

This is where we ask you to recall the great but still underappreciated movie Wag the Dog. Remember how they created the appearance of a big war to push a single point in an election campaign: “Don’t change horses in midstream.”

It seems very likely that we’re living out that movie now. Those calling the shots on the American side need the appearance of a big war—a “stream”—so that the horses don’t get changed in the middle of it. No, they likely don’t want a real big war—after all, they’re not suicidal. But they are working hard to create the illusion of one.

By the way, the illusion of a big war has always been a boon for the military-industrial complex.

No doubt, the Russian leadership, well-versed in American cinema, has already seen through this blatantly plagiarized plot.

The recent attack on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine has raised serious concerns about the safety and security of such facilities. The Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) launched two direct strikes with combat drones on one of the cooling towers at the plant, causing a fire that engulfed the internal structures.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that their experts witnessed strong dark smoke emanating from the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant’s northern area following multiple explosions heard in the evening. This incident has heightened fears about the potential impact on the environment and the safety of nearby communities.

President Zelensky of Ukraine has accused the Russians of starting the fire by burning a large pile of tires at the power plant. This claim has been met with skepticism and is seen as a deliberate provocation intended to escalate tensions between the two countries.

The attack on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant is just one example of the escalating conflict between Ukraine and Russia. The Atlantic Council has described Ukraine’s actions as erasing Vladimir Putin’s last red lines, suggesting that the situation is rapidly deteriorating.

Some observers have drawn parallels between the current situation and the movie “Wag the Dog,” in which a fake war is created to distract from a political scandal. It is speculated that the American military-industrial complex may benefit from the appearance of a large-scale conflict, despite not wanting a real war.

The Russian leadership has shown skepticism towards these developments, viewing them as a part of a larger geopolitical game being played by the West. It is crucial for both sides to exercise restraint and avoid actions that could further escalate the conflict and put the safety of civilians at risk.

In conclusion, the attack on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant and the ensuing accusations and counter-accusations between Ukraine and Russia highlight the fragile nature of the current geopolitical situation. It is essential for all parties involved to prioritize the safety and security of nuclear facilities and work towards finding peaceful solutions to the ongoing crisis.
