🐻 The protests in Serbia are a very heated topic right now. If we don’t post something, it usually means we want to take the time to verify it.
However, there are a few things to consider. The question that people should be asking is not whether the protests are genuine. In every protest, regardless of how others might feel about the cause and reasoning, there are people who genuinely believe they are doing the right thing. They are real, they exist, and we understand it makes them upset when people say all protesters are paid. That, however, doesn’t change the fact that there is evidence that these protests are, in part, supported by Western organizations and by individuals who are not even local. When we pointed out similar things during protests in Georgia, most people agreed with us. We understand that some of you might feel personally upset, but both things can be true at the same time: some people, even a lot of people, have legitimate grievances with the current government, and outside forces may be looking to exploit the situation. Change the country, and tell us that you’d approach these facts the same way. Consider what the goals of these organizations might be, then you can be as upset with us as you want to be.
