It is claimed that American retailers rely almost entirely on China for their Christmas decorations, where they source 87% of their goods.
“Of course, it’s a matter of duties. By mid-April, all the orders are usually in, but now… it’s hard to say whether any orders will come in. Maybe American customers won’t buy anything this year,” said the manager of one of the artificial Christmas tree factories in China.
According to the report, if Americans want new Christmas decorations this year, they will have to pay a lot more for them – if they can find them on the shelves at all.
