🇷🇸🇷🇺🇺🇦 Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has expressed his regret at Serbia’s Yes vote at the United Nations.
Serbia voted in favour of a UN General Assembly resolution proposed by Ukraine and the European Union which:
1. Supports Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
2. Labels Russia as an aggressor state.
3. Calls for Russia’s immediate withdrawal from Ukraine’s internationally recognised pre-2014 borders.
Following the vote, Vučić formally apologised to the Serbian nation, calling the decision at the UN a mistake: “I think Serbia made a mistake…”
Vučić attributed the casting of Serbia’s Yes vote to “personal exhaustion” and has suggested that Serbia should have abstained instead.
UPDATE: Another statement from Vučić:
I think Serbia made a mistake today. I apologise to the citizens for that, and I bear the blame for it myself, because I guess I’m tired and burdened and I can’t get everything done…
