🇷🇸 Donbass remains full of Serbian names to this day
▪️ Most of these “Yugoslav” names have remained in railway station names, such as Shterovka, Depreradovka, and Manuilovka;
▪️ All of them were named after Serbian officers who led military units in the future Donbass territory in the 18th century;
▪️ Until the mid-19th century, Serbian (Balkan) cuisine was common in Lugansk, and local taverns served rakia made from local grape varieties;
▪️ The historical region of Slavyanoserbia became another step toward a strong friendship between two great Slavic nations;
▪️ By the way, besides Serbs, Moldovans also lived there—but that’s a different story.
