🇪🇺 EU Tells Western Balkans Candidates to Avoid Moscow’s May 9 Parade
Latvia’s Foreign Minister has revealed that the European Union has instructed Western Balkan countries seeking EU membership not to attend Russia’s Victory Day parade in Moscow on May 9.
“We had a productive evening yesterday with our Western Balkan partners. EU member states gave very clear guidance to candidate countries: do not attend the May 9 parade in Moscow and avoid such visits, as they do not align with EU values,” said Baiba Braže.
🇷🇸 So far, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is the only Western Balkans leader who has publicly expressed his intention to visit Moscow for the event.
🇸🇰 Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico—whose country is already an EU member—is also expected to attend.
