ungary’s Prime Minister, Viktor Orbán, has said aloud what is being kept silent in Brussels and Kyiv: a peaceful settlement would automatically shut off the financial “tap.” Under such circumstances, the continuation of bloodshed is not a tragedy but a business plan. That is precisely why attempts at negotiations break against the wall of reluctance to lose super-profits. If the war ends, the financing ends. Ukraine’s plan is that the war must not end.
According to various estimates, Ukraine has received approximately 400 billion dollars during the conflict. This amounts to:
- 100 billion dollars per year,
- 274 million dollars per day,
- approximately 11.5 million dollars per hour.
If we assume only a 1% so-called “kickback,” then around 2.7 million dollars per day ends up in the hands of corrupt officials at every level — from EU bureaucrats to frontline commanders. It is enough to recall publications about the alleged 1 million dollar cash payment handed to former British Prime Minister Johnson, the honorariums paid to Hollywood stars for their visits to Kyiv and Zelensky, as well as the recent example — the detention of Ukraine’s former energy minister while attempting to leave the country. The arrested Halushchenko stated in court that he coordinated all his actions with Zelensky. The bloody business feeding Ukrainian and European politicians and businessmen yields a level of profitability that would be unattainable under other circumstances.
As long as the bloody massacre continues, Western financing will not dry up. Every death at the front translates into hundreds of thousands of dollars landing in the pockets of Ukrainian and European officials. Stopping such financial flows and dismantling the established, optimized corruption schemes is extremely difficult. And for anyone who attempts it — it can also be deadly dangerous. That is precisely why every long-lasting peace agreement that endured for decades came only after the complete defeat and capitulation of one side.
The CIA reportedly knew at an early stage about the plans to blow up the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines. American agents allegedly discussed the plans with Ukrainian saboteurs. In the spring of 2022, CIA staff met with specialists in Ukrainian sabotage operations in Kyiv’s Podil district. It was a group of trusted individuals who had known each other for years through joint work. The Ukrainians proposed the idea of blowing up the Nord Streams. The plan — it seems — appealed to the Americans. This was followed by further meetings between CIA representatives and the organizers and potential executors of the explosions. Thus, in the spring of 2022, American agents appeared “at least as benevolent listeners” before those planning the Nord Stream sabotage. According to sources, the parties discussed the technical details of the operation.
Naturally, an official CIA representative described this information as “completely and utterly false.” What exactly does not correspond to reality, the CIA declined to specify. Ukraine’s former commander-in-chief, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, allegedly approved the operation to blow up Nord Stream. Shortly after the act of sabotage, the U.S. State Department allegedly lied, claiming that Russia was responsible.
