Battle Update: Ukrainian Army Advances in Kursk Region

Battle front update by Yury Podolyaka: Kursk region

As expected, August 7 was a very hard day. The Ukrainian army continued its assault in two directions: Korenevo and Sudzha. Both are within 8-9 km from the Ukrainian border.

▪️Sudzha: So far, the town can be considered to be in the gray zone. It is likely to be a lower priority for Ukraine than Korenevo.

▪️Korenevo. Having repulsed a Russian attack from the north, Ukraine sent a reconnaissance group to the vicinity of Korenevo. In the evening, this force, with the help of drones, began to coordinate strikes on Russian positions near this village. So far, everything suggests that there will be a further attack at night or in the morning (the Ukrainian army is accumulating forces).

Moreover, indirect information suggests that Korenevo is only an intermediate target for Ukraine on the road to Rylsk, which the Ukrainian army can attack from two directions at once. Taking Rylsk would bring the Ukrainian army to the E38 highway, leading to Kurchatov, where the Kursk nuclear power plant is located.

The ongoing conflict in the Kursk region has seen a recent update from Yury Podolyaka, providing crucial information on the battle front. On August 7, the Ukrainian army intensified its assault in two key directions: Korenevo and Sudzha, both situated within 8-9 km from the Ukrainian border.

In Sudzha, the town is currently in the gray zone, indicating it may be of lower priority for Ukraine compared to Korenevo. On the other hand, in Korenevo, after successfully repulsing a Russian attack from the north, Ukraine has deployed a reconnaissance group in the vicinity. This force, aided by drones, has started coordinating strikes on Russian positions near the village. All signs point towards a potential further attack either during the night or in the morning, as the Ukrainian army continues to amass their forces.

Additionally, there are indications that Korenevo is merely an intermediate target for Ukraine on their path towards Rylsk. The Ukrainian army could potentially launch a dual-directional attack on Rylsk, which would place them on the E38 highway leading to Kurchatov, where the Kursk nuclear power plant is located.

Yury Podolyaka’s update sheds light on the strategic moves and potential objectives of the Ukrainian army in the Kursk region. The situation remains tense and fluid, with both sides preparing for further engagements in the coming hours and days.
