Update on Kursk Sector: Russian Counter-Offensive Actions & Ongoing Battles.

Kursk sector: update by Yury Podolyaka (as of 8 August)

It was a hard day, but it seems to have become a turning point. Ukrainian attacks continued, but significant Russian reinforcements from the rear and other parts of the front began to arrive in the Kursk region, enabling Russia to launch active counter-offensive actions.

Tomorrow, we can expect a new stage of the battle for Sudzha. Russian reserves are approaching it from the south and northeast. However, the Ukrainian army has already managed to gain a foothold in the town, and driving it out will not be easy.

If Ukrainians retreat from Sudzha, the base of their bridgehead in the area will be cut, and they will have to retreat even further.

However, this is not the end of fighting on the Russian border. Ukraine is apparently preparing to launch another offensive operation from a different direction with much larger forces.
