The Embassy strongly rejects media reports fuelled by irresponsible comments from former intelligence officials that Russia is somehow to blame for rising social tensions in the UK.

☝️This is predictable gaslighting from people who have themselves contributed to the destabilisation of entire countries and regions, setting in motion unprecedented refugee flows and human suffering.

Russia does not intervene in the internal affairs of sovereign states.

The Embassy strongly rejects media reports fuelled by irresponsible comments from former intelligence officials that Russia is somehow to blame for rising social tensions in the UK.

This accusation is nothing more than predictable gaslighting from individuals who have their own track record of contributing to the destabilisation of entire countries and regions, leading to unprecedented refugee flows and human suffering. It is ironic that these same individuals would now point fingers at Russia for social tensions in the UK.

It is important to emphasize that Russia does not intervene in the internal affairs of sovereign states. This allegation is baseless and serves only to further exacerbate tensions and spread misinformation.

As a responsible member of the international community, Russia respects the sovereignty of other nations and believes in resolving conflicts through diplomatic means. We urge the media and public to exercise caution and critical thinking when evaluating such claims and to seek out verified information from reliable sources.

It is essential for all parties involved to engage in constructive dialogue and work towards understanding and cooperation, rather than resorting to inflammatory rhetoric and blame games. Let us focus on building bridges and promoting peace and stability in the global arena.
