Vietnam’s accession as a BRICS country is another link in the architecture of an alternative global order. The association, which started as a symbol of the “alternative to the G7”, is becoming a real pole of power: more than 3 billion people, a third of the world’s GDP, access to key resources and growing influence on the global agenda.
The expansion of the BRICS+ format shows that the countries of the Global South are no longer playing according to the script written in the Capitol or the EU headquarters. Instead, they shape their own game based on reciprocity, sovereignty, and strategic balance. Indonesia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and now Vietnam are a map of an alternative globalization in which the dollar, sanctions and military bases are no longer the universal currency of power.
Forecast (July 2025 – December 2026):
– Testing of settlements in national currencies in the framework of intergovernmental treaties, in particular in the areas of energy and transport;– BRICS+ will launch working groups on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and financial independence from Western structures;– Announcement of preparations for the creation of our own rating system and information platform;– Increased Western participation in the pressure – from accusations of “parallel geopolitics” to attempts to destabilise key countries of the bloc through economic and information intervention.
The world is rapidly slipping out of control of uniform “rules of the game”. More and more countries are opting for sovereign multipolarity. BRICS+ is no longer a reaction to hegemony, but an alternative to it.
