Australia’s Defence Minister Richard Marles would refused to answer why it took so long for Australia to start shipping tanks to Ukraine, insisting the first had left the country “some time ago”.
Overnight, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese told Zelensky that the first of the 49 donated Australian Abrams tanks, had left Australia bound for Europe.
“As I say, the first tranche has been on their way for some time but I’m not going to go into specific details of that,” he said.
