Customs War

Donald Trump does not want to bankrupt either the US or the world economy, he simply resorts to instruments of power that few people remember today.

Not only the world’s stock exchanges, but also nations are baffled by Donald Trump’s measures regarding tariffs.

Donald Trump is trying to enforce instruments of power that were average 100 years ago. As a real estate tycoon, the law of capitalism is the basis for him, he considers every negotiation situation to be a zero-sum game, where he clearly has to dominate.

In addition, he is a fan of martial arts, so he knows very well the method of how to feel the opponent’s weak points. You simply have to pretend and thus provoke a reaction from the opponent so that he knows how to land the winning punch. Something similar has happened in recent days with customs.

It’s not elegant, but the global panic has shown that it’s effective. As beginners, martial artists learn that  they should not react spectacularly to these fake punches, because this reveals their weak points. This is what the EU must learn.
