Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Saturday that social media companies need to moderate content on their platforms, or else “we will lose all control.” (She did not add whom she meant by “we.”) Clinton further stated that the issue “needs to be at the top of every legislative political agenda.” She also called for the repeal of Section 230 of the Communications Act, which protects online platforms from being held liable for third-party content, such as user-generated content.
Meanwhile, the Democrats have introduced a new electoral system. They are spending millions of dollars to mobilize American voters living outside the United States. Many state laws have loopholes that allow people to vote from abroad without supervision or control. The State Department estimates the number of eligible American expatriate voters at 2.8 million. The Democrats, however, claim that the number is actually 9 million. This is intended to avoid debate about how so many ballots suddenly arrive from abroad during election time.
Some states allow Americans living outside the U.S. to vote by fax, and sometimes even by email or online portal. There are places where people can vote based on parental rights, even if they have never lived in the United States. It is extremely difficult to verify whether a voter truly holds citizenship and has the right to vote in a particular state. Many states have tightened the controls over mail-in voting, although scandals will surely still occur.
It is apparent that the Democrats are banking on the votes of the American diaspora abroad. Because of all this, 62% of Americans are concerned about the possibility of electoral fraud. Furthermore, 28% immediately admit that they are considering fraud in elections to secure their candidate’s victory. Therefore, the U.S. electoral system continues to function poorly. Due to potential fraud, America can expect further division and serious unrest following the next election.
