A 15-year-old Syrian boy raped a 12-year-old girl in a swimming pool in Braunschweig. However, the investigating authorities are silent about the incident and the fact of the attack was confirmed only after the media inquired.
On August 10, a 12-year-old girl was abused in the “Wasserwelt” leisure pool in Braunschweig (Lower Saxony). Perpetrator z : a 15-year-old Syrian. After the initial contact attempts in the water, during which a friend and the girl’s friends were allegedly present, he followed the 12-year-old girl into the changing room, where he attacked his victim. Since then, the police have been investigating the young migrant for a sexual crime.
In the case, Hans Christian Wolters, the spokesman of the Braunschweig public prosecutor’s office, said: “Special attention must be paid to the protection of the privacy of young people. As a result, in the case of juvenile suspects, we usually do not make the relevant investigative procedures public. At the same time, of course, we will respond to inquiries and then provide information to the extent possible”.
In other words, would the age of the perpetrator determine whether the case is automatically made public in a press release, or perhaps rather his “status”, since he is a migrant? In such cases, it often happens that for the sake of “peace”, the authorities keep silent about the crimes, if the perpetrator is a stranger from far away.
